One of our “Feathers Academy” accredited high performing managers, Michael Gore, Conference Host Manager at the Best Western Premier Leyland Hotel officially became England’s most customer caring individual when he was awarded Gold in the Customer Service category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2012 during a glittering ceremony on 22nd May at Athena in Leicester’s cultural quarter.

Just three years ago, Michael was finding life tough as a qualified but unemployed plumber in his home town of Chorley, but that all changed when he began working for the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Leyland Hotel, part of the Feathers Hotel Group.

After entering the awards, Michael took part in a series of X-Factor-style heats where he competed in Preston and Blackpool followed by the North of England semi-final and culminating in him winning the highest accolade in tourism, VisitEngland’s prestigious Gold award.
